Notes on using BasicTrigEqnSolv.xls, SinEqnSolv.xls and CosEqnSolv.xls.

BasicTrigEqnSolv.xls allows students to familiarise themselves with a graphical method of solving the basic trig equations sinx = v, cosx =v or tanx = v..

It provides practice in solving equations and attempts to build up a mental association between the equations and the graphs.

There is also a sheet summarising a system of methods of solving the 3 types of equation.

SinEqnSolv.xls and CosEqnSolv.xls are similar but deal with more complicated equations of the form Sin(ax+b)=v and Cos(ax+b)=v.
