Notes on using Factorising.xls

This workbook is aimed at buiding up an awareness of the different types of factorising and fluency in recognising and working the methods.

I often find that students get stuck trying to factorise x²-3x say because they are thinking of it as a trinomial type instead of a take out the common factor type.

It can also be recommended for AS level students who are rusty at factorisation.
