Notes on using NumberSequences.xls

This worksheet  trains students to find the formula for a linear sequence.

The level of difficulty can be set by clicking on "Easy", "Harder" or " Hardest" .

 The "*" shows the current level.

Clicking on "New Question" randomly generates a new problem within that level.

The student fills in the pink cells with their answers and gets a message underneath the cell saying "Correct" or "Try again".

When they have the values of a and b both correct the formula is shown automatically at the bottom.

The worksheet could be used in investigative mode to introduce the topic with follow up to ensure they have "got it" or as a revision/consolidation exercise after an initial explanation.

It could be useful in the lead up to coursework involving formula for linear sequences such as "Cross Numbers" etc.....see also Grid.xls.
