Notes on using StLines.xls

The first sheet allows students to vary the values of m and c using the sliders and observe the effect on the graph.

The second sheet gives them a randomly generated target line to match again using sliders.

The third sheet tests their understanding further by generating a random line with integer values for m and c which the student must determine. Student enter their answers on the sheet and are told whether or not they are correct.

The worksheet could be used in investigative mode to introduce the topic with follow up to ensure they have "got it" or as a revision/consolidation exercise after an initial explanation.
