About me:

I started developing my Excel skills by writing applications for Mathematics education and running Excel workshops for teachers, but I soon realised that my skills had applications in many other fields and now operate as an independent Excel consultant and trainer.

From my background as a Mathematics and Statistics teacher I bring good communication and presentational skills along with strong logical and analytical abilities. I am a natural problem solver and enjoy a challenge.

  • I can develop an Excel project for you using advanced features such as Macros and Visual Basic. Examples might include self scoring quizzes for use in training courses or e-learning, custom calculators, database projects, Monte Carlo simulations, etc, etc.
  • I can support your use of Excel by adding features to your own Excel models or acting as a trouble-shooter and help-desk.
  • I can produce Excel based charts and reports from data you supply (for example SurveyMonkey results) or create PowerPoint demonstrations dynamically linked to Excel data.
  • I can run a training course, tailored to your needs, to improve your use of Excel leading to greater efficiency and more impressive results for the end user.

"Mike's excel skills know no bounds and he has helped us out to great effect on many projects"

- Emma Rawlins (GalbraithWight)

"I recommend Mike highly and without reservation for his Excel skills; as well as his obvious subject expertise he is a very good teacher. Having attended his Advanced Excel sessions at a conference I learned so much. The skills I learned have saved me hours in my whole school assessment role. Not only did I learn new skills but I took away information that has enabled me to continue learning myself. "

- Colleen Young, Assistant Headteacher at Newstead Wood School

"Thank you for your prompt and cooperative way of working, building on our excel project by adding VBA to give it a sophisticated and user friendly finish."
